Loading a safer and sensible community

I am running for Local Council in West Ward, Whitby because residents deserve a strong, accountable, and accessible voice. As current DDSB (Durham District School Board) Trustee for Whitby and Chair of the Audit Committee, I bring experience in governance, financial oversight, and responsible decision-making.
My experience with ODSP and MCCSS, along with my background as a former business owner, has given me a strong understanding of the challenges facing individuals, families, seniors, and people with disabilities. I believe leadership begins with listening and meaningful consultation.
I will bring a practical, common-sense approach to Council, focused on responsible spending, safer communities, strong services, and ensuring West Ward residents have a meaningful voice.
Michelle is also the current secretary on the board of directors for the Ignite Durham Learning Foundation which helps ensure students across Durham continue to have access to food, school supplies and other essentials to have meaningful learning opportunities.
I will work to make West Ward and Whitby safer, cleaner, more accessible, and stronger. My priorities are:
I will bring a common-sense, collaborative approach to Council and focus on practical solutions that make a real difference in people’s everyday lives.
